I have been asking myself that question as i muddle through the changes that have been happening in the Medical Marijuana Community. Me being a caregiver is seeing alot of changes in both how caregivers and patients interact. I see people using the term caregiver in vain. I see patients shopping for all the free items they can and at a drop of a hat swap their caregiver for freebies.
I personally still prefer the relationship aspect of the designation caregiver. I really like to have some sort of repour with my patients. I hope that I display honesty, compassion and mutually pleasing experience when I interact with my patients. I prefer a Pablo’s coffee on 6th over starbucks.
The papers said there were more dispensaries than starbucks, ha. Why didnt they count the independent coffee shops in the count. I am sure there are more coffee shops than dispensaries in Denver. Why are we(MMJ Community)compared to starbucks a single corporation with 1000’s of stores across the country.
The city is upset about the number of dispensaries. I am not happy about that either but I truly believe the patients will decide what kind of care is good for them. Why can’t state and city let the patients weed(no pun intended) out the right type of care for them. Why don’t we zone out coffee shops? There are far to many in the area, isn’t there?
Oh back to the question what is a caregiver? tough one. Here is Mahooka’s mission statement:
“To provide our patients the most value for their caregivership”
and the definition of “value” is totally determined by the patient and I together. The state or the government can not define that for us!
Patients please comment and let me know what you think?
Pungent, earthy, tangy.
Light green not too much orange.
Very smooth in the water pipe. Sweet aftertaste. Light smoke smell. Very little smoke taste. Heady. Supposed to knock you out, but I didn’t find it to be too crazy. 3 hits in water pipe has good enough effect, a little numbing. Vision is a little blurred. Has effect on body. Slows you down. Mellow and for a lazy afternoon, definitely not if you want to get things done.
Found joint pain to be lessened, and body/muscular soreness dissipated. Hearing became more acute. Very mellow.
Not much history on it, known as bush doctors sledgehammer. Bd sledgehammer. Fox farm made it and I don’t know anything about it.
Suposedly a rare product, hard to find and not made often, people have asked about it online but it is apparently available here and there. The owner is local.
Had it with an edible cookie and let me tell you, an hour/two later, I was zonked out. Great sleep enhancer!
We need them to listen to our state. We have rights and want them to be acknowledged.

Mahooka has a true purple-tinged beauty known as Grape Ape. Typically purple strains bring in many rave reviews, based purely on looks. To me though, a purple plant means a sick plant. There are many outdoor strains that turn purple due to cold enviroment, or autumn like conditions. Indoors, you can cause a plant to turn purple by lack of nutrients, overdose of nutrients, water or constricting conditions. Also, there are cases when a plant is genectically purple, and this is what Mahooka has. This particular Grape Ape strain that Mahooka has is sativa dominant, I believe Although an indica influence is present, and appreciated. The high is cerebral, motivational, heady, this is why I believe it is a sativa hybrid, although the indica is clearly there as the high is long and also felt in the body. It has a uniquely seductive flavour like grapes, maybe more so like grape bubblegum. Very dense buds, with purple trichomes and some purple leaves present from the trim. The smoke is heavy and sweet, yet not harsh at all, unlike most indica/sativa purple strains. Be sure to get down to Mahooka, in downtown Denver to check it out soon, as this strain always goes first.-jt
This is a very interesting, private strain that Mahooka holds in downtown Denver. Being AK-47 produces very tight resinous buds, an indica/sativa hybrid itself, combined with the Jack Herer, which is a haze, indica/sativa hybrid, creates some very large, stretched out, beautiful buds. This is truly a spectacular achievement in modern cannabis breeding. The combination provides for a very haze/indica influenced, fruity, spicy, flavour thanks to the Jack Herer, followed up by a woody flavour provided by the AK-47, the indica/sativa hybrid. The high is very smooth and strong, yet very clear and up. This was grown using the hydroponic method. So, being this indica/sativa is select to only a few clubs in Denver, be sure to get to Mahooka to get some.-jt
